There are many things to think about when you move to a new area like Canton. Deciding on which city or township is best for you and your home buying needs is key to finding your new home, but doing the research and trying to learn about an area you’re unfamiliar with takes time, and you have other things to focus on.
We are real estate experts in the Canton area, but we’re also its residents. We are familiar with the neighborhoods and what makes this area unique, and we wanted to share important information about each community in the Canton area that will make finding your new home easier.
Canton: Grounded In Community
What We Love About Canton: Exciting, refreshing and packed with entertainment! Canton Township offers everything your heart desires in one vibrant community. It’s all here — even Michigan’s only IKEA store!
Canton is a large residential community conveniently located 20 minutes from the Detroit Metropolitan Airport and close to I-275, I-94, Ford Road and Michigan Avenue. As a farming community, it was known as the “Sweet Corn Capital,” and today’s it’s known for its excellent local schools and plenty of fun things to do.
Farmington Hills: The Perfectly Charming Hometown
What We Love About Farmington Hills: What an effervescent community! I’m always ready for an adventure when I’m in the Farmington area. Whether a culinary feast or a shopping frenzy, Farmington offers a great mix of everything.
Farmington Hills is known for its safe and welcoming atmosphere. Its homes are as charming as the community itself, and you can find anything from Victorian homes and bungalows to modern condos and luxury homes.
Livonia: Where “People Come First”
What We Love About Livonia: I don’t know about you, but Livonia lives up to its “People Come First” motto. It’s that hometown feel you get with Livonia’s friendly residents and 60 parks. Oh, and what about that world-class rec center? Fabulous.
Livonia is the 3rd largest city in Wayne County and the 9th largest city in Michigan, but it still feels like a close community. It is home to 60 parks, 3 outdoor swimming pools, 3 higher education institutions, 2 ice arenas, 2 major shopping centers, and much more.
Northville: Where Past Meets Present
What We Love About Northville: What’s past is present in Northville. Olde Victorian homes butt up to quaint shops at Center & Main. This city brings back charm with a vengeance. The township is a haven of newer homes. It’s an eclectic blend of old and new … undeniable chemistry!
Northville and Northville Township focus on combining history with modern living, with the Historic District and Mill Race Village as two of many historic points of interest in this community. Don’t forget to visit the Victorian Festival!
Novi: A Contemporary and Beloved Community
What We Love About Novi: Although its name is No.VI, it is definitely Number 1 when it comes to offering the best of everything. Pretty much perfect. Let’s all go shopping at Twelve Oaks Mall!
Novi was only recently incorporated in 1969, but it’s become a hub of modern living because of its convenience to major highways and fun points of interest. This community may have gotten its name because it was the 6th township in Oakland County — “No.VI”.
Plymouth: Convenient to Everything
What We Love About Plymouth: Wondrous things happen here. The city is steeped in history. You’ll be stepping out when dining and shopping. This town is my kind of place—bustling with festivals and activities. See you at the corner of the Trail & Main.
Plymouth is desirable for its local schools, proximity to major highways, and for its downtown, which is a hub of excitement with shops, galleries, restaurants, and more.
