As with previous months, the Canton real estate market was a bit of a mixed bag in recent weeks, especially given that the median home sales price has increased even as the total number of home sales has decreased.
In times like these, it’s more important than ever to be up-to-date on market activity in Canton.
Thus, today, I’m going to share with you some key data you’re going to want to know if you’re planning on listing your home anytime soon!
Canton Home Sales Over the Last Month
Here’s an overview of recent real estate market activity:
- Currently there are 329 resale and new homes on the Canton real estate market, including 230 homes in some stage of the foreclosure process.
- Between November and February, the average price per square foot for Canton homes was $106, up 11.6 percent when compared to the same period last year.
- Meanwhile, the median sales price for homes was $188,750 based on 190 home sales.
- Compared to last year, the median sales price increased 7.9 percent, or $13,850.
- And the total number of home sales decreased 25.5 percent.
- Here’s how other communities stacked up in terms of median sales price:

- Northville $299,000
- Livonia $135,500
- South Lyon $193,000
- Farmington 134,900
- Novi $243,325
- During the week ending on February 26, the average listing price for Canton homes was $223,114.
- When compared to the week before, the average listing price has decreased 4.7 percent (or $11,060).
- Broken down further, the average listing price for a 2-bedroom Canton home was $152,726 during the week ending on February 26.
- The average listing price for a 3-bedroom home was $163,686.
- And the average listing price for a 4-bedroom home was $320,971
