Plymouth, MI Real Estate Market Ends 2013 on a High Note

Plymouth housing market statisticsReflecting trends that we’ve been seeing all year, the Plymouth real estate market is ending the year on a high note, especially for sellers.

According to recent market data, both the average price per square foot as well as the median home sales price has increased, despite the fact that the total number of home sales has decreased.

Michigan Homes for Sale in Plymouth

Here’s an overview of recent market activity:

  • Currently there are 162 homes for sale on the market, including 58 in some stage of the foreclosure process.
  • Between September and December, the average price per square foot for Plymouth homes was $153, up 27.5 percent from the year before.
  • Also between that period, the median sales price for Plymouth homes was $230,000 based on 168 home sales.
  • When compared to last year, the median home sales price has increased 17 percent, or $33,5000.
  • Meanwhile, the total number of home sales decreased 1.2 percent.
  • Broken down further, during the week ending on Dec. 4, the median sales price for a 2-bedroom Plymouth homes was $150,000
  • The median sales price for a 3-bedroom home was $268,450.
  • And the median sales price for a 4-bedroom home was $280,000
  • Here’s how other communities compared when it came to median sales price:
    • Northville: $307,000
    • Novi: $242,000
    • Livonia: $145,000
    • South Lyon: $210,500
    • Canton: $195,928
  • During the week ending on Dec. 4, the average listing price for homes was $353,923, up 4.5 percent from the week before.
  • During that previous week, the average listing price was $340,000.
  • Here’s how other communities compared in terms of average listing price during that period:
    •  Northville: $462,458
    • Novi: $324,356
    • Livonia: $163,226
    • South Lyon: $361,500
    • Canton: $237,088
