Downtown Plymouth Michigan is a beautiful and historic area offering a great place to stroll, shop, and eat. Today, we’re going to tell you about one of our favorite restaurants, Nico & Vali Italian Eatery.
Off the Beaten Path … Kinda
Nico & Vali is a little off the beaten path … but only a little! It is located on the north side of Wing Street, just east of Main. This location is barely a walk at all from Kellogg Park and just a short stroll from the Plymouth District Library.
A few of us recently stopped by for lunch and boy was it good. Our server was excellent – pleasant and attentive despite the place being full! The front section offers high-table seating while a second section has a more intimate feel with regular tables and booths.
The restaurant features a very nice list of beers and wines, as well as a nice selection of salads, panini, burgers, and pasta dishes. Even though the lunch menu is not as extensive as the dinner menu, we were perfectly satisfied.
What’s Cooking
Among the wonderful offerings are two delicious, traditional Italian soups: pasta e fagioli and stracchiatella. We tried the stracchiatella this time and it was absolutely chock full of chicken and vegetables in a delicious broth. Highly recommend it!
There is only so much you can eat in a lunch, so a couple of us tried the spinach and ricotta ravioli in marinara sauce while the other paired the stracciatella in a combo with a salad topped with grilled chicken and dried cherries (above). While the salad was reported to be excellent, the rest of us say that the ravioli was to die for!
Nico & Vali Italian Eatery also offers u-bake pizzas as well as gourmet entrees to go. Catering available as well and there is a nice patio for those warmer days (surely they are coming soon!). We highly recommend you try Nico & Vali Italian Eatery when you are in the downtown Plymouth area!
