Canton, Michigan Real Estate Update for June 2013

All across the board, the Canton housing market is improving for area home sellers, according to the most recent data.

The real estate website Trulia recently reported that Canton home prices have increased, as have the total number of home sales in the area.

And these are not minor increases either, but rather double-digit increases!

Here’s an overview of recent activity in Canton:

Currently there are 354 homes for sale on the market, including scores that are in some stage of the foreclosure process.
Between February and April, the average price per square foot for Canton homes was $94, up 13.3 percent from the year before.
Also during that period, the median sales price for Canton homes was $173,250 based on 369 home sales.
When compared to the same period a year ago, the median home sales price increased 22.4 percent, or about $31,750.
Meanwhile, the total number of home sales increased 26.8 percent year-over-year.
Here’s how other communities stacked up when it came to median sales price:
- Plymouth, MI: $195,000
- Livonia, MI: $120,375
- Northville, MI: $321,000
- Belleville, MI: $111,500
- Novi, MI: $195,500
During the week ending on May 15, the average listing price for Canton homes was $232,971, up 1 percent from the week before.
During that previous week, the average listing price was $330,700.
Broken down further, during the week ending on May 15, the average listing price for a 2-bedroom Canton home was $152,403.
The average listing price for a 3-bedroom home was $180,280.
And the average listing price for a 4-bedroom home was $313,009.
