Joan Meyers of Joan Elizabeth Photography is a Fine Art Children and Family Black and White Photographer. Her exclusive medium is black and white film, known for its beautiful depth and tonal range. Her goal is to create works of art for her client’s home, focusing on wall portraiture and albums that showcase the unique soul, emotion and connection of the families she photographs. Her products are created on the highest quality archival museum quality papers designed to last for generations.
Portraiture
In addition to timeless black and white photographs she also creates hand‐colored portraiture. This old-fashioned process was prevalent in the days before color film was available. Today, though very rare, it is just as beautiful of a medium as it was previously and she uses the same transparent oils and techniques that they used 100 years ago. You are assured of a timeless classic that will be the showpiece of your collection.
She is also commissioned to create hand‐colored homes, showcasing homes with this timeless method. FrameWorks on Penniman Avenue in downtown Plymouth MI showcases one of her home portraits in their window.
About Joan
Joan lives in Plymouth with her husband and three children. She has lived in the area for eight of the last ten years. She and her family moved out of state for a short two years during this time but when the opportunity to move back up here arose, they didn’t hesitate. They love the area, particularly downtown Plymouth MI with all of its charm and history.
