Here comes another weekend in southeast Michigan! Always some fun things to do and this weekend that includes the fun, family-friendly show Disney’s The Little Mermaid, Jr. by Canton’s own Spotlight on Youth Theater (SOY). Disney’s musical sensation “The Little Mermaid, Jr.” brings laughter, fun and foot-tapping tunes to life, courtesy of Spotlight on Youth at the Village Theater at Cherry Hill in Canton. The Village Theater has free parking, is handicap accessible and has a concession stand.
Tickets are going fast, so reserve your seats today! The show runs approximately 1 hour and 25 minutes with a 15-minute intermission. Perfect for children 5 and up … and those who can’t sit still too long! Directed by Novi resident Barbara Bloom with costumes by Garden City’s Karen McDermott.

“Based on the original tale by Hans Christian Anderson and the Disney movie, “The Little Mermaid Jr,” tells of a magical kingdom fathoms below the ocean’s surface, where Ariel, the beautiful young mermaid, longs to leave her ocean home to live in the world above. But first, she’ll have to defy her father the King, make a deal with the evil Sea Witch, and convince the Prince that she’s the girl with the enchanting voice.”
