For several months in a row now, the average price per square foot has continued to rise on the Canton real estate market, even as the total number of home sales has decreased year-over-year.
This is fairly good news for Wayne County home sellers who are trying to get a great price on their Canton area home.

Homes for Sale in Canton
Here are some of the highlights of the most recent Canton market data, provided by Trulia:
- Currently there are 355 homes for sale on the market, including a number of homes that are in some stage of the foreclosure process.
- Between July and September, the average price per square foot for Canton homes was $92, up 9.5 percent when compared to the same period last year.
- Meanwhile, the median sales price for homes was $159,317 based on 415 home sales.
- When compared to the same period last year, the median sales price has decreased by 9.3 percent.
- Last year, the median sales price was $175,610.
- And the total number of home sales has decreased by 23.7 percent year-over-year.
- Here’s how other Wayne County area communities stacked up when it came to median sales price:
- Northville: $280,500
- Novi: $212,250
- Livonia: $112,290
- South Lyon: $142,900
- Superior Township: $940,000
- During the week ending on Oct. 24, the average listing price for Canton homes was $227,704 – up 0.8 percent when compared to the week before.
- During that previous week, the average listing price was $225,835.
- During the week ending on Oct. 24, the average listing price for a 2-bedroom Canton home was $122,423.
- The average listing price for a 3-bedroom home was $180,344.
- And the average listing price for a 4-bedroom home was $280,122.

- Northville: $447,356
- Novi: $1,023,036
- Livonia: $138,782
- South Lyon: $276,880
- Superior Township: $222,327
