During the month of December, visitors to the downtown area of Plymouth, Michigan will enjoy seasonally-decorated storefronts, piped-in music in Kellogg Park, and even groups of carolers strolling through! One of the highlights of the season is the Walk of Trees in Kellogg Park. Local organizations – and individuals and families, too – can sponsor a tree and decorate it in a theme or to celebrate or honor someone who has passed.
It’s a wonderful tradition and brings many visitors for a stroll through the park with a yummy treat from one of the neighboring local shops!
For information about sponsoring a tree, contact the Plymouth Chamber of Commerce at 734.453.1540. The trees are lit 24-hours a day from the Sunday after Thanksgiving through Christmas!
Creativity abounds in the Park! Let your imagination and Christmas spirit take over and sign up to sponsor a tree next year!
And, just as a bonus plug to some great kids, here are some carolers from the Plymouth-Canton Educational Park (the name for the campus of high schools here). These kids are in the various choir programs and did a great job adding a little holiday spirit to DTP!
If you live in the area, we hope you will take some time to explore and enjoy everything that DTP (downtown Plymouth!) has to offer during the holidays. And, if you don’t live in the area, we hope you’ll visit and fall in love with it!
