Recent data suggests that it’s a fairly good market for home buyers, especially given that the average home price has decreased, as has the average listing price.

Meanwhile, the median home sales price has actually increased slightly.

What You Should Know About Plymouth Real Estate

Here’s an overview of the current state of the housing market in Plymouth:

  • Currently there are 193 homes for sale on the market, including 50 in some stage of the foreclosure process.
  • Between October and January, the average price per square foot for Plymouth homes was $136, down 6.2 percent from the same period last year.
  • Also during that time period, the median sales price for homes was $238,500 based on 28 home sales.
  • Compared to the same period last year, the median home sales price has decreased 6 percent, or $13,500.
  • And the total number of home sales has decreased 81.9 percent.
  • Here’s how other communities stacked up when it came to median sales price:
    • Livonia: $160,000
    • Northville: $265,000
    • South Lyon: $224,000
    • Novi: $280,000
    • Canton: $210,000
    • Plymouth: $238,500
    • Farmington: $157,000
  • During the week ending on January 6, the average listing price for Plymouth homes was $315,155.
  • This represents an increase of 0.1 percent from the week before.
  • Broken down more specifically, the average listing price for a 2-bedroom home was $204,641
  • The average listing price for a 3-bedroom home was $293,377.
  • And the average listing price for a 4-bedroom home was $509,915
  • Here’s how other communities compared in terms of average listing price:
    • Livonia: $176,513
    • Northville: $450,986
    • South Lyon: $299,574
    • Novi: $396,875
    • Canton: $307,733
    • Plymouth: $315,155
    • Farmington: $182,314
