home 2Just like its neighbor, Canton, the Plymouth housing market is showing some favoritism to home buyers lately, at least according to recent market data.

Evidently, the total number of home sales has decreased as has the median sales price.

A Brief Look at Recent Market Activity in Plymouth

Here’s an overview of the current state of the market in Plymouth:

  • Currently there are 206 homes for sale on the market, including 20 in some stage of the foreclosure process.
  • Between March and June, the average price per square foot for Plymouth homes was $136, down significantly from the same period last year.
  • Meanwhile, during that same period, the median sales price for homes was $204,500 based on 62 home sales.
  • Compared to the same period last year, the median home sales price decrease 18.2 percent, or $45,000.
  • And the number of home sales decreased 57.8 percent.
  • Here’s how other communities stacked up in terms of median sales price:
    • Canton: $195,000
    • Northville: $310,500
    • Livonia: $154,500
    • South lyon: $250,000
    • Farmington: $162,500
    • Novi: $252,500
  • During the week ending on June 17, the average listing price for Plymouth homes was $345,310, down 1.4 percent from the week before.
  • During that previous week, the average listing price was around $350,000.
  • Broken down further, the average listing price for a 2-bedroom home in Plymouth was $169,035.
  • The average listing price for a 3-bedroom home was $297,058.
  • And the average listing price for a 4-bedroom home was $450,481.
  • Here’s how other communities compared when it came to average listing price:
    • Canton: $294,289
    • Northville: $590,098
    • Livonia: $187,175
    • South lyon: $482,823
    • Farmington: $178,371
    • Novi: $369,319
