Let’s talk food. Everyone loves food, right?! Well, those of us here in the Plymouth, Canton, and Northville Michigan communities are no exception! Many terrific restaurants are located here. One of those is Karl’s Cabin in Plymouth, which is always coming up with great events. Today, we’re going to tell you about their recent Six-Course Beer Pairing Dinner.
This particular event was last Friday night and was sold out! This was a six-course beer pairing dinner, featuring Michigan craft brewery Dark Horse Brewing Co. Now, we sure do know that not everyone enjoys beer, but if you are ever thinking of learning more about beer and giving it a fair try, a pairing dinner might be just right for you.
The chef at Karl’s Cabin conjured up some very particular flavors to pair perfectly with six of Dark Horse’s brews. If you’ve never tried a brown ale, you might like it with the Cheddar Ale Soup. If a Blueberry Stout raises your eyebrow, perhaps you just need to taste it along with a creamy Creme Brulee.
The food was fantastic, and the representative from Dark Horse provided some awesome insight into what flavors to expect in each beer and a little history of how it came about. This was a fabulous, unpretentious event, and a great night out!

Dark Horse Brewing Co. is located in Marshall Michigan, about an 1-1/4 hour drive away. Some folks at our table were big fans and had previously visited Dark Horse. They raved about it and highly recommended it as a great road trip because it has a great restaurant of its own, tours and tasting, and even somewhere for the kids to run around. Good to know!
