As local real estate analysts predicted, the Canton housing market is showing strong gains heading into the spring home buying season.
According to the latest market data, the local housing market is seeing an increase in both the average price per square foot as well as the median home sales price. The average listing price is also showing gains.

The Highlights of the Recent Canton Housing Report
Here’s a look at the latest report from our wonderful real estate market:
- Currently there are 344 homes for sale in Canton, including 158 in some stage of the foreclosure process.
- Between November and February, the average price per square foot for Canton homes was $111, up 4.7 percent from the same period last year.
- Meanwhile, the median sales price for homes was $210,000 based on 158 home sales.
- Compared to the same period a year ago, the median home sales price increased 10.6 percent, or $20,100.
- And the number of home sales decreased 36 percent.
- During the week ending on Feb. 18, the average listing price for Canton homes was $269,683, up 0.7 percent from the week before.
- The week before, the average listing price was $268,000.
- Broke down further, the average listing price for a 2-bedroom home in Canton was $188,277.
- The average listing price for a 3-bedroom home was $205,335.
- And the average listing price for a 4-bedroom home was $373,585.
