Some of you may have wondered what the new restaurant is that took over the bank building on the corner of Penniman and Main in downtown Plymouth Michigan. Well, we just happen to be able to answer that … directly from the folks at Greek Islands Plymouth.

The Greek Islands Plymouth is more than a “Coney” and is a true family business. The whole Stefanakis family is involved in growing not just “the business,” but a place in the Plymouth, Canton, Northville community where people can come together as friends, family and business colleagues to connect with one another … over delicious, homemade food, of course! Our “family” includes our customers and our community!
Greek Islands Coney Restaurant in Plymouth is truly a family business. George Stefanakis, who opened the first Greek Islands Coney in 1991 in Dearborn, partnered with his son Stefan and his son-in-law Chris Petrakis to open the Plymouth location in July of 2012.
The family had long wanted to join the beautiful downtown Plymouth community, but the opportunity was never right—until the historic building that once housed the bank became available. It was the perfect opportunity to join a longstanding community that was also expanding and growing. And, being across from the ever-inviting Kellogg Park in the heart of town spoke further to the “Family Mission” of this family business.
Other key ingredients are serving quality food at affordable prices, offering an extensive menu with something to suit everyone’s taste, and making almost everything in-house (including the Greek dishes from old family recipes made from scratch each day).
Berry Frenzy French Toast, topped with Blueberries, Strawberries, Raspberries, and stuffed with Banana Pudding! OH HEAVENS!
