Summer Solstice in SE MI

Normally, we like to post our Community Life blog on Thursdays, but this week felt a little different so we bumped it by a day.

For one, we have a terrific Sneak Peek event this weekend so we wanted to make sure everyone heard about it first and foremost!  Click here to check out the delightful Canton MI ranch that will be open on Sunday (June 23rd) before it goes on the real estate market next week.  And, for one more shameless plug, click here to join our email list and be among the first to know about homes before they hit the market.

And, second, well, summer hit.

Dragon!

The splash pad playground at Plymouth Township Park is a great way to enjoy a hot summer day!

The Longest Day

Today, June 21st, is the longest day of the year and the official first day of summer.  YEAH, BABY!

Call me nostalgic, but I love what summer brings:  Farmers Markets with fresh produce, people out walking their dogs, parkas put away and sandals out, car windows open, blooms everywhere, warm evenings with a cool drink on the porch.  Every bit of it is, well, perfect.

It is so uplifting to see beautiful planters like this one everywhere around town!

And the colors in southeast Michigan are fantastic!  We usually speak of the allure of fall colors, but there is a lot to be said for summer colors too.  The bluest of blue skies.  The sparkle of water. The rainbow of shades in flower gardens. Even the depth and breadth of greens in a weedy field scream color.  Oh yeah, we can’t forget that great glowing orb in the sky!  Early summer is a sheer delight to the eye.

The colors of these natural beauties growing alongside the road are so rich!

So, on this, the longest day of the year, I could work a little longer.  But I might just use the extra time to gaze and enjoy the sights, sounds, and smells of the good ole summertime (even if that includes a thunderstorm!).

Ducks at the Pond

The pond at Plymouth Township Park is so serene. On this day, the clouds reflected in the water while the ducks waddled around in the lush, green grass.

Summer + Real Estate

Early summer is definitely one of the hottest seasons in the Plymouth, Canton, and Northville MI real estate markets.  But we thrive on that kind of pressure!  If you have special circumstances or are leery about jumping into the market as a buyer or seller, just give us a call here at The Bittinger Team.  After 30 years in the real estate business, we’ve seen and heard pretty much everything, so we are ready and able to handle whatever you throw at us!
