A Little Bit of Country in the Township

If you’re new to the Plymouth, Canton, and Northville Michigan area, you must have already learned that we have many terrific places to explore.  From museums, galleries, and libraries, to sports venues and recreational complexes, to cinemas and live theaters.  But, one place that should be on everyone’s list to visit (and revisit) is Plymouth Township Park.

Plymouth Township Park is an 80-acre oasis located on the north side of Ann Arbor Trail, east of Beck Road.  It’s actually at the intersection of Ann Arbor Trail and McClumpha Road, which gives the park it’s common name “McClumpha Park”.  It’s just north of the very popular and beautiful subdivision of Woodlore North and a few minutes’ drive from downtown Plymouth, Michigan.

There’s a lot of cool stuff here, including a fishing pond with dock, covered picnic areas, walking trails, baseball diamonds, a huge children’s playscape, and a splashscape.  Sledding in the winter, of course, and don’t miss the cool sculptures of “friendly monsters” made by Peter Rockwell, son of Norman Rockwell.

There is so much to do at this park, even if you just bring a picnic or take a stroll.  The lawns are lovely and the trees old.  Bring a book if you like, or hang out with your kids.  Check out these photos and then visit there yourself.  The fall colors will be upon us soon enough!
