Bittinger Team Realtor Rocks “The Who” Saturday

Hi, Jeff McLaughlin here, home buyer specialist with the Bittinger Team, and happily enough, your newest guest blogger!

What I Love

Here’s a little something about me you may not know … I love The Who!!! Loved them ever since I was a kid. Their early pop-art singles like “I Can’t Explain”, “Anyway, Anyhow, Anywhere” and “Pictures of Lily” were like little 2:50 explosions of sound and energy. They created the genre of Rock Opera, giving us “Tommy”, the deaf, dumb and blind pinball wizard, and, “Quadrophenia”, the story of a conflicted youth and the class conflict between the Mods and Rockers (think “The Outsiders”, but set in England).

John Entwistle’s monstrous playing made me want to be a bass player, but Pete Townshend’s songwriting made me want to be The Who’s bass player!

Roger Daltry is the blueprint for the golden-haired, silver-throated rock god, and Keith Moon … well, I don’t think there a rock bassist alive that wouldn’t have relished the chance to play with him. They didn’t call him “Moon the Loon” for nothing!

I’m always excited to take part in tribute performances, because for a few moments, I get to pretend I’m John Entwistle! So, come down to The Bullfrog Bar & Grill this Saturday from 9:00pm to whenever, at 15414 Telegraph Road (one block north of Five Mile), and see a bunch of great local bands pay tribute to the almighty – The Who – with our own take on several of their classic tunes. It’s a guaranteed blast for any and all fans of The Who, and the lineup for this one is epic, so don’t miss it!

To put you in the right frame of mind, here’s my band, The Ilk, with our take on an old Who classic called “Whiskey Man”.

Enjoy! Hope to see you Saturday!
