Plymouth, Michigan Real Estate Market Report for June

It was a pretty productive month here on the Plymouth real estate market for area homer sellers.

Just like last month, the local housing market continued to show year-over-year gains in such areas as the average price per square foot as well as the median sales price.

Homes for Sales in Plymouth

Here’s a brief overview of the current state of the Plymouth housing market:

  • Currently there are 243 homes for sale on the market, including 123 in some stage of the foreclosure process.
  • Between February and April, the average price per square foot for Plymouth homes was $113, up 4.6 percent when compared to the same period in 2011.
  • Also during that period, the median home sales price was $175,000, up 3.4 percent when compared to 2011.
  • Last year, the median home sales price was $169,324.
  • Meanwhile, the total number of home sales actually decreased year-over-year by 18.5 percent.
  • During the week ending on May 23, the average listing price for Plymouth homes was $315,421, down 0.3 percent when compared to the week before.
  • During that week before, the average listing price was $316,072.
  • Here’s how nearby communities compared in terms of average listing price during that week:

Northville: $468,308
Canton: $222,735
Salem: $450,000
Novi: $425,000
Livonia: $102,500
South Lyon: $209,900

  • During that same week ending on May 23, the median sales price for 2-bedroom Plymouth homes was $109,600
  • The median sales price for 3-bedroom homes was $170,000
  • And the median sales price for 4-bedroom homes was $190,000.
