Canton Michigan Real Estate Market Update for April

Home sales activity on the Canton, MI real estate market was a bit sluggish during the last several years.

For instance, the median sales price saw year-over-year declines and foreclosures continued to dominate a large part of the market.

Meanwhile, the total number of home sales also decreased.

Here’s a brief overview of recent sales activity on the Canton real estate market:

  • Currently there are 420 homes for sale on the market, many of which are in some stage of the foreclosure process.
  • Between December and February, the average price per square foot for Canton homes was $82, up 2.5 percent when compared to the same period in 2011.
  • During the same period, the median sales price for homes was $141,150, down 1.6 percent when compared to the year before.
  • During that previous year, the median sales price was $143,492.

  • Between 2011 and 2012, the total number of home sales decreased by 60.5 percent.
  • During the week ending on March 28, the average listing price for a Canton home for sale was $217,260, up 0.6 percent when compared to the week before.
  • During the week ending on March 28, the average listing price for 2-bedroom Canton homes was $107,150
  • The average listing price for 3-bedroom homes was $166,011
  • And the average listing price for 4-bedroom homes was $275,311
